On January 16, at the Labor Culture House of Phu Yen province, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, together with Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh - Member of the Presidium, Head of the External Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and Mr. Vu Van Tien - Member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and presented gifts to union members, workers, and poor households in Phu Yen province, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Reporting on the work of caring for and protecting union members and workers in 2024, Mr. Dang Ngoc Anh - Chairman of the Phu Yen Provincial Federation of Labor said that last year, the Unions at all levels did a good job of ensuring wages and legitimate and legal benefits for workers, civil servants, and laborers; encouraging and sharing difficulties with a number of businesses.
From the Provincial Federation of Labor Social Fund, Trade Union financial resources and mobilization sources, Trade Unions at all levels in the province have organized visits and given gifts to union members, employees, and fishermen in difficult circumstances during the holidays, Tet, and Workers' Month in 2024, with more than 49,500 gifts, worth more than 12.8 billion VND.
"After more than a month of launching, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" in 2025 has received support from 27 agencies, units, and enterprises inside and outside the province, with 969 gifts, totaling 777 million VND", said Mr. Dang Ngoc Anh.
At the program, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, Mr. Vu Van Tien and leaders of Phu Yen province presented 200 Tet gifts, each including 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag worth 300,000 VND to union members and workers.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also presented 23 Tet gifts, each consisting of 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag worth 300,000 VND to 23 poor households in the province.
The event was held within the framework of the program to care for Tet for people in difficult circumstances, union members and workers of the Party, State and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
Receiving Tet gifts from the Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sang (born in 1968, residing in Tuy Hoa City), a worker at Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, shared: "I am very happy to receive Tet gifts from the Deputy Prime Minister and Central leaders. For workers in difficult circumstances, these gifts are truly meaningful and help a lot during Tet."
At the program, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc sent New Year greetings to all union members, workers, disadvantaged households and all people in the province.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that organizing the Tet Sum Vay program, activities to care for Tet, encourage and support poor households, union members and workers is a good tradition, with the spirit of "the rich help the poor".
"I hope that provincial leaders, agencies, departments and businesses will pay close attention to workers in difficult circumstances, especially families of war invalids and martyrs, people with meritorious services to the country and poor households. Focus on improving the living standards of workers through creating stable jobs, increasing income, and at the same time supporting families in difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone has a prosperous life and a happy Tet holiday," the Deputy Prime Minister directed.
At the program, the Phu Yen Provincial Federation of Labor also awarded certificates of merit to 9 business units that have made many contributions to organizing and implementing the program Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang in 2025.
