In the context of strong digital technology development, AI is considered one of the technologies capable of changing the methods of production, management and people's lives.
In Phu Tho, the locality is focusing on attracting high-tech projects, gradually forming a labor force to meet modern production requirements.
At the end of April, Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee organized the awarding of the Investment Registration Certificate for the Meiko Electronics Microchip Production and Manufacturing Plant Project to Meiko Yen Quang Electronics Co., Ltd.
The project is implemented on an area of more than 80,000m2 in Yen Quang Industrial Park, Thinh Minh commune, Phu Tho province. In the first phase, the project has a total investment of 50 million USD and is expected to increase to over 500 million USD in the next phase.
The factory's goal is to produce high-tech microchips and equipment to supply to the global value chain.
According to the plan, Meiko Group's factory will officially go into operation in the second quarter of 2027, creating stable jobs for about 1,000 workers. This is considered a significant job resource in the context that the locality is promoting the attraction of high-tech industries.
The project focuses on the field of manufacturing microchips and high-tech equipment - a profession that requires skilled labor, technological skills and adaptability to modern production environments. Thereby opening up opportunities to shift labor from traditional industries to high-value-added industries, applying AI and modern technology.
Not only promoting labor migration to the high-tech sector, many businesses in Phu Tho are also promoting the application of AI and digital transformation in production management and labor safety.
BYD Vietnam Electronics Company in Phu Ha Industrial Park, Phu Tho ward is one of the typical enterprises in applying technology to labor management and occupational safety and health.
Currently, the enterprise has 16,228 officials and workers working with an average salary of more than 10 million VND/person/month. The company determines that building a safe labor culture starts from the awareness of each worker and the responsibility of each production unit.
100% of machinery and equipment positions at the company have warning signs and signs in Vietnamese and the common language of workers about safety and occupational hygiene for machinery, equipment and materials with strict safety requirements.
Notably, businesses have proactively promoted digital transformation in occupational safety and health management through digitizing labor records, updating safety training data and monitoring and checking equipment on electronic platforms.
Information about technical procedures, safety risk warnings or training schedules are quickly transmitted through online operating groups, helping workers promptly grasp new regulations and raise awareness of risk prevention.
In parallel with the development of high technology, Phu Tho also sets a target to create jobs for more than 51,000 workers in 2026.
According to the plan, the total target for job creation in 2026 assigned to communes and wards is 51,400 workers. Of which, domestic job creation is 47,000 workers, and sending workers to work abroad under contract is 4,400 people.
Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee said that the locality will focus on promoting employment policies, strengthening labor supply and demand connections, and coordinating vocational training between businesses and vocational education institutions to improve the quality of human resources according to market demand.
Currently, 28 industrial parks have been established in Phu Tho province, of which 17 industrial parks are operating, creating jobs for 233,662 workers with an average income of 8.99 million VND/person/month.
