According to the Hau Giang Provincial Statistics Office, by September 2024, the province had 750 newly registered enterprises. Of which, 560 were private enterprises and companies, 208 affiliated units (branches, representative offices, business locations), an increase of 22% over the same period. The total registered capital was VND 3,813 billion, an increase of 94% over the same period.
In addition, 240 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, with a total capital of VND178.66 billion; 186 enterprises registered to dissolve. To date, the province has 4,007 enterprises still operating, with a total capital of VND71,080 billion.
In the first 9 months of 2024, the labor utilization index of the entire industrial sector increased by 0.74% over the same period. This shows that the labor force in Hau Giang is abundant, the operations of large enterprises in industrial parks and clusters are stable, attracting a large number of workers working far away to return to the province to work for local enterprises.
In the third quarter of 2024, Hau Giang province is estimated to have 446,911 employed workers. There are 274,290 employed workers in the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector; 64,908 employed workers in the industry - construction sector; and 107,713 employed workers in the service sector. The number of employed workers in economic sectors tends to increase due to the recovery and good development of production and business activities, providing many jobs for the labor market.
Currently, the number of trained workers with provincial degrees or certificates is still low, the training quality is not high, while the demand of employers requires skilled workers with high skills. Therefore, vocational training is always of interest to the province. As a result, vocational training has been provided to 10,659 people, reaching 163.98% of the annual plan.
Since the beginning of the year, the province has created new jobs for 20,106 workers, an increase of 46.25% over the same period. Of which, 620 workers were sent to work abroad under contracts, reaching 82.77% of the plan.
