Priority given to employees and workers in especially difficult circumstances
At the meeting, the representative of the organizing committee said that the plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 was issued early by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (September 30, 2024).
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the subjects that the Vietnam Trade Union takes care of during Tet are all union members and employees, with priority given to union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, those affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, those whose working hours have been reduced, those who have lost their jobs, those who are owed wages and bonuses; union members and employees from policy families, ethnic minorities, who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; union members and employees who stay at their units and enterprises to work, produce and do business during Tet...
The theme of the program to care for the Lunar New Year 2025 for Party members and employees is "Happy Tet - Spring thanks to the Party" and with the motto "All Party members and employees have Tet".
According to the plan, trade unions at all levels will focus on organizing 10 activities to take care of union members and employees during Tet. Including the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang", focusing on the grassroots level and above, suitable to the actual situation, ensuring safety, savings, efficiency, attracting many union members and employees to participate; visiting, giving gifts, and wishing union members and employees a happy New Year on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, especially union members and employees who are still in difficulty, have low income, have serious illnesses, occupational diseases, have work accidents, are underemployed, lose their jobs, or are owed wages and bonuses; the program "Union Tet Market 2025" in online and direct forms; organizing free transportation or supporting train, car, plane, and vehicle tickets for union members and employees to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to their workplaces, etc.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has directed a number of provincial and municipal labor federations to organize the program "Trade Union Train - Spring 2025" to support about 2,000 two-way train tickets (departure and return); the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the program "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2025" to support about 400 one-way air tickets for union members and laborers working in the southern localities to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in the northern localities...
According to the Organizing Committee, during the Lunar New Year 2025, it is expected that about 1.2 million union members and workers will be cared for and supported from the union's financial resources of over 1,500 billion VND.
More than 300 booths serving employees and workers
According to the plan, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has assigned the Hai Phong City Labor Federation to organize the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level and launch the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" online, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, local Party committees and authorities, enterprises and a large number of union members and workers.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phiet - Vice President of Hai Phong City Labor Federation said that, implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Hai Phong City Labor Federation has developed the Plan "2025 Trade Union Tet Market".
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phiet, the "2025 Trade Union Tet Market" will be organized by the Hai Phong City Labor Federation for a longer period than previous years (5 days) - 9 days, expected to open on January 11, 2025 and end on January 19, 2025 (from December 12 to 20, the year of the Dragon), at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (No. 53 Lach Tray Street, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City).
At the Tet market, there will be 300 booths displaying and introducing products (food, services, household appliances, cuisine...) with a minimum discount of 10% or more compared to the listed price on the market. The Hai Phong City Labor Federation will issue 2,500 vouchers, worth 200,000 VND/voucher - total value of 500 million VND - for union members and workers in difficult circumstances to visit and shop at the Tet market...
“The special feature of the 2025 Tet market is that the Hai Phong City Labor Federation will organize 9 lucky draw programs in the evenings. And from socialized sources, the organizing committee will have very valuable gifts (mainly household appliances, electronics, refrigeration, motorbikes...) to bring joy when Tet comes, Spring comes to the union and workers” - Vice President of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation shared.
