Soc Trang starts construction of housing for workers at the end of this year

PHƯƠNG ANH |

It is expected that in December 2024, Soc Trang province will start construction of 2 housing projects for workers.

According to the Department of Construction of Soc Trang province, Aranya Vietnam Joint Stock Company is the investor implementing the Housing Project in the Trade Union Institutional Area in An Nghiep Industrial Park (Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province) according to the Decision on Investor Approval No. 1151/QD-UBND dated June 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee.

The project is invested with synchronous technical infrastructure and social infrastructure with an area of 3.5 hectares. Including 6 social housing buildings with about 1,050 apartments (3 buildings of 9 floors, 2 buildings of 12 floors, 1 commercial building of 15 floors) and 1 kindergarten. The project has a total investment of about 874.2 billion VND.

Currently, the land has been cleared and leveled. In addition, Soc Trang province has invested in completing the construction of the main road through the project to serve the connection of the Trade Union Institution Project in An Nghiep Industrial Park with the National Highway 60 bypass.

A representative of Aranya Vietnam Joint Stock Company informed that they are currently coordinating with relevant units to carry out project establishment procedures, striving to start construction by the end of 2024.

The investor also coordinated with the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor to survey workers' opinions on housing needs. The survey showed that the income of beneficiaries of social housing support policies in the province is relatively low (income under 6 million VND/month accounts for over 60%).

Therefore, in order for people to be able to buy houses, investors propose that relevant departments and agencies soon advise the People's Committee of Soc Trang province to arrange preferential capital to support low-income people to have the conditions to buy social housing in early 2025.

As for the worker housing project in the An Nghiep Industrial Park Service and Worker Residential Area, it has a scale of more than 11 hectares. 76 Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company is the investor, expected to provide about 1,131 social housing apartments, a wastewater treatment plant and a kindergarten. The project has a total investment of nearly 998 billion VND.

Currently, the investor is coordinating with relevant units to carry out project procedures to start construction in December 2024.

An Nghiep Industrial Park (Soc Trang province) has a total area of 180 hectares, with 49 enterprises and 64 projects. Each year, it creates jobs for an average of about 25,000 workers.
