On the morning of December 25, Lao Dong Newspaper organized the 2026 Civil Servants and Workers Conference. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor attended the conference.
In 2025, despite many challenges, Lao Dong Newspaper will still strive to overcome them, achieve many outstanding results, and many targets far beyond 2024, continuing to affirm its position as one of the key and trusted press agencies of the trade union system and the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
According to the report, the number of articles increased by 23% compared to 2024, the newspaper ensures a mainstream, active news flow; vividly reflects political, economic, social, cultural, sports activities... Information about trade unions, workers and employees is focused on.
From June 2025, the Newspaper will open the "Ford" section, contributing to effectively propagating the activities of great solidarity, patriotic emulation movements, and action programs of the Front.
The newspaper maintains its No. 1 position in protecting the rights of employees. In 2025, the newspaper will produce 28,897 articles on trade unions, workers and laborers. 19 series of successful articles directly protecting the rights, worth billions of VND to hundreds of workers, teachers, and employees across provinces and cities. The newspaper also published 82 investigative articles and topics, receiving 43 response documents from authorities to handle the issues raised by the newspaper.
The newspaper won 27 press awards, including 3 national press awards; 1 national press award for anti-corruption; 1 Golden Hammer and Sickle award; 22 ministerial awards. Reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper also won 23 international photo awards.
The pageview index of Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper reached 174% over the same period in 2024, the number of visits reached 142.2% compared to 2024. This is a rapid, stable growth rate and the most prominent bright spot in 2025. The newspaper is regularly in the top 5 press agencies with the largest number of visits in Vietnam (According to Similar Web's monthly statistics).
In 2025, the newspaper's profit will reach 105% of the plan; the average income of cadres, civil servants and workers is estimated to increase by 5% compared to 2024.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Presidium, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged and praised the outstanding results that Lao Dong Newspaper has achieved in 2025.
In 2025, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung suggested that Lao Dong Newspaper focus on a number of key orientations, including maintaining the political and social identity of Lao Dong Newspaper: correct, accurate and timely information; increasing orientation, fighting spirit, and humanity; continuing to firmly hold the leading position in protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers.
In addition, digital transformation must go hand in hand with content transformation and organization transformation. Technology and artificial intelligence are important tools, but the ultimate goal is to create high-quality press products that are valuable in leading public opinion, useful for workers and trade union organizations; at the same time, special attention should be paid to information safety and security.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung also noted that taking care of life and building a team is a key task. "Reporting in the current period is under great pressure, at high speeds, and requires multiple skills. Therefore, we must focus more on the working environment, training, fostering, discovering and promoting new factors, to "keep people", "keep the profession", "keep the fire", said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung.
Lao Dong Newspaper needs to continue to perform well the tasks assigned by the General Confederation of Labor, while proactively proposing new ways to increase propaganda efficiency and increase the spread of the Trade Union organization in the digital environment.
"I hope that the Lao Dong Newspaper will always remember: every news line, every article, every press product - whether in print newspapers or in the digital environment - ultimately aims at a common goal, which is to make workers listen, be protected, be respected and have more trust in the Trade Union organization," said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized that the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will continue to care, accompany and create conditions for Lao Dong Newspaper to successfully complete its assigned tasks.
At the conference, Lao Dong Newspaper summarized emulation movements in 2025; rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2025; leaders of the Newspaper and the Executive Committee of the Lao Dong Newspaper Trade Union signed an emulation agreement in 2026.
