Contributing to helping female union members in difficult circumstances have a home in the union
Ms. Phung Ky Kim Phung, a union member of the Trade Union of Quang Phu Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company (Ninh Son District, Ninh Thuan Province), her husband died early, raising 2 young children who are in school alone. For many years, Ms. Phung has always tried to hope to have a solid home for the mother and children, but her salary as a worker is only enough to cover daily living expenses.
Knowing Ms. Phung's difficult situation, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor supported 50 million VND from the "Union Shelter" Fund, creating an initial motivation for her to build a new house. Up to now, the level 4 house with a total cost of 115 million VND has helped the mother and daughter have a stable place to live and work with peace of mind.
For Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - an employee of the Social Protection Center of Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province, at the age of 56, she had her first house with the support of the Trade Union. As a cook at the center, Ms. Thuy's salary is only over 2 million VND/month. Ms. Thuy has been renting a house for many years. Knowing Ms. Thuy's situation, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor decided to support her with initial funding to determined to build a spacious and sturdy level 4 house. Since having a new house, Ms. Thuy and her children's lives have changed to a better new page.
Previously, with low incomes and no land, my mother and I had to rent a house. When my child got married and did not have a stable house, I also left. Thanks to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union's support of 50 million VND from the Trade Union Shelter program, I was able to build a 100m2 level 4 house. Not only a place to live, this shelter also helps my children feel secure towards a complete family, Ms. Thuy emotionally shared.
According to statistics from the Labor Federations of Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen provinces in 2024, the union has supported more than 100 union members with housing difficulties to build "Union Shelters". Among them, there are many cases of female union members in difficult circumstances, single mothers, main breadwinners in the family... From the initial support of the union, it has created great motivation for female union members to have stable housing.
In enterprises with a large number of female workers in Phu Yen province, in addition to specific regulations for female workers, the policy of encouraging female workers to research and improve work productivity is promoted by the Trade Union.

Opening a kindergarten to support female workers
Shyang Hung Cheng Company Limited (An Thanh Ward, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province) is one of the sports shoe manufacturing enterprises with the largest number of workers in the province. Due to the nature of the industry, female workers in enterprises account for over 70%. The company and the grassroots trade union are very interested in caring for and training female workers.
The company's Women's Union always recommends developing policies and activities at the factory, focusing on factors related to female workers. The Executive Board of the Trade Union has successfully included in the labor agreement the content of the company supporting milk for pregnant female workers and at the same time paid attention to cases of female workers who unfortunately suffer from serious illnesses, recommended that the provincial trade union support and mobilize workers in the enterprise to join hands to support.
The Trade Union and the construction enterprise opened a kindergarten to raise the children of workers. The kindergarten is opened right next to the company, convenient for female workers to pick up and drop off their children and go to work. This model has helped female workers a lot in raising children in the early stages.
Mr. Mai Thanh Tuyen - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said that the preschool scene was raising 250 children who are children of workers. On the occasion of March 8, 2025, in order to encourage and motivate, the Trade Union will organize a gift giving ceremony for female workers in the company.
The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor said that the unit is effectively organizing the Fund to support workers in especially difficult circumstances. Notably, the fund has actively supported many female workers who have unfortunately suffered from work-related accidents and serious illnesses. Each unfortunate case facing difficult circumstances is supported by the fund with 4-10 million VND. The fund has greatly encouraged and contributed to helping female workers overcome adversity.
