On the morning of October 18, the Binh Dinh Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union organized a training course to improve domestic violence prevention and disease prevention for grassroots trade union officials in 2024.
The training was attended by 59 trainees, representatives of affiliated grassroots unions.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan, Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Civil Servants' Union, the training course was organized as a practical activity to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2024).
The students spent time reviewing the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese revolutionary women's movement; affirming the important role and great contributions of women's trade union work.
During most of the training session, trainees listened to Director of the Legal Consulting Center, Binh Dinh Bar Association Huynh Van Chua present a topic on preventing domestic violence; Doctor Pham Thi Vui (Institute of Applied Research in Medical Technology and Pharmacy) give instructions on how to identify and prevent stroke.
On the sidelines of the event, Medlatec Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Binh Dinh Branch, a familiar partner of Binh Dinh trade unions at all levels in the Union Welfare Program, provided free testing for students, delegates and a large number of union members and workers in need. Each individual was treated with a free package from the list of 54 services. Additional testing cases were discounted from 10 - 30% according to the agreement.
Director of Medlatec Vietnam - Binh Dinh Branch Nguyen Van Binh said that since the beginning of the year, in addition to the Civil Servants' Union, the unit has deployed nearly 20 health care sessions for 1,000 union members and employees of the Binh Dinh Education Union and the Quy Nhon City Labor Federation. The commonly applied service groups are: Screening for chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, dyslipidemia, gout, liver and kidney diseases, screening for cancer markers in the blood, etc.
