Workers die in work accidents
In 2024, two female workers at Fujikura Automotive Vietnam Co., Ltd., Ms. Vo Thi Nhu Nhi (residing in Phu Son 2 village, Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly Na (residing in Cam Toai Tay village, Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district) unfortunately passed away in traffic accidents while on their way to work. Ms. Nhi passed away, leaving behind her husband and two young children, causing Mr. Tran Van Son, her husband, to quit his job as a driver to stay at home to take care of his children, making the family even more difficult. Also in 2024, Mr. Tran Minh Thanh, a worker at the Central Electromechanical Joint Stock Company, died in a work accident, leaving behind his young wife and elderly parents.
Facing the great losses of families, the Labor Federation (Labor Federation) of Da Nang City organized the delegation by the Vice Chairman of the City Labor Federation, Mr. Le Van Dai, who was the head of the delegation to visit, encourage and give support on 8.5 last. The delegation visited the family of Nhi, Ms. Na and Mr. Thanh, graciously encouraged and shared the pain of losing relatives and wishing families to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon. Each family has received a gift worth 10 million VND (including gifts and cash) from Da Nang Labor Federation.
Timely support for workers in difficulty and with serious illnesses
During Workers' Month 2025, the City Labor Federation presented a total of 174 gifts with a total cost of 380 million VND. Of which, 170 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, were given to workers who had work accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses; 4 gifts, each worth 10 million VND, were given to the families of union members and workers who died. In addition, the City Labor Federation also presented 34 "Union Shelters" with a total cost of more than 1.22 billion VND to union members with difficult housing circumstances.
Within the framework of the activities of Workers' Month and Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene in 2025, the Trade Union of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones visited, encouraged and presented support to union members and workers who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, and serious illnesses in especially difficult circumstances at Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Morito Da Nang Co., Ltd.
The delegation presented support to 35 union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, each gift worth 2 million VND. Of these, there were 4 deaths due to work-related accidents and 24 cases of work-related accidents that reduced working capacity by 5% or more.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, encouraged workers to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and continue to contribute to their work.
It is expected that the Trade Union of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones will provide support to 108 cases of serious illness with a total amount of 304 million VND.
