Enjoy many benefits
For Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - an employee of Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City), in addition to receiving gifts on holidays and Tet; guaranteed salary and bonus; the value and quality of shift meals are increasingly improved, what makes him happy when working at the company is having a place to take care of employees' children.
“Every time I pick my child up from school, he is always happy, open-minded, and smart. Especially, other places have summer vacations but here he is looked after all year round, from there, I can work with peace of mind, increasing productivity” - Mr. Giang shared.
Having two twins at the company nursery, Mr. Danh Be Nam - an employee of Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company - said: "I feel very secure about the working hours, especially the reasonable cost for the two children, my family has a lot less to worry about."
Meanwhile, at Nha Trang Seafoods Joint Stock Company (Thot Not District, Can Tho City), in addition to paying attention to the salary and bonus regime for employees, the company's Trade Union also promptly listened and proactively made suggestions to the business. From there, there were good ways to contribute to taking care of employees.
Outstanding models include lending capital to workers and employees in difficult circumstances to develop their family economy, building clean vegetable gardens to provide additional meals for workers, and mobilizing workers and employees to build Trade Union Shelters.
As a member of the company's Trade Union since its inception, Mr. Phan Thanh Tuan - a worker at Nha Trang Seafoods Joint Stock Company - has enjoyed many benefits over the past 10 years. Among them, the Trade Union Shelter has helped the male worker realize his dream of settling down.
“Understanding my family’s circumstances, the company’s Trade Union not only proposed to the higher-level Trade Union to let me receive the Trade Union Shelter, but also asked for the company’s leadership’s opinion to organize a campaign to mobilize union members and employees at the enterprise to donate nearly 50 million VND to me. The company also donated doors, furniture, etc. to help make my shelter more complete.
To be worthy of this care, I always promise myself to work hard in production and as long as I am still a worker, I will still participate in the Trade Union organization" - Mr. Tuan expressed.
Strengthening supervision and improving the quality of collective labor agreements
Can Tho City Labor Federation informed that currently, the city has 241 enterprises signing collective labor agreements (CLAs), of which 17 enterprises have signed new ones. The CLAs are all concise, focusing on provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law, such as wages, bonuses, allowances, subsidies, shift meals, holidays, Tet, etc.
To achieve these results, the City Labor Federation focused on directing and grasping the situation of business units, regularly monitoring the implementation of collective labor agreements, labor contracts, implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, and the settlement of policies for union members and employees. There are 1,156 units and subjects building grassroots democracy regulations.
In addition, the role of trade unions at all levels, especially the team of trade union cadres at the grassroots level, is really important. Trade union cadres at the grassroots level both perform the function and task of being representatives to protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees; and mobilize union members and employees to enthusiastically compete in labor production, completing production and business targets of agencies and enterprises.
To improve the quantity and quality of the collective labor agreements, the representative of the Can Tho City Labor Federation said that in the coming time, the city's labor unions at all levels will continue to focus on dialogue and collective bargaining, bringing benefits to union members and workers while building a team of union officials, especially the team of union chairmen of non-state-owned unions, to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
