On December 4, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a conference to disseminate important contents to the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central and equivalent Trade Unions, Trade Unions of Corporations under the General Confederation of Labor, and heads and deputy heads of departments and units under the General Confederation of Labor.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Vice Presidents: Ngo Duy Hieu, Phan Van Anh, Huynh Thanh Xuan, Nguyen Xuan Hung chaired the conference.
At the conference, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang thoroughly grasped and directed all levels of trade unions to focus on urgently and seriously implementing 5 groups of tasks and solutions in the coming time.
In particular, it is necessary to unify the perception that the fight against waste is a difficult and complicated task; it has an equivalent position to the fight against corruption and negativity.
Trade unions at all levels need to proactively participate and coordinate effectively in perfecting and organizing the implementation of institutions to prevent and combat waste, research, and give opinions on amending and perfecting legal regulations on practicing thrift and combating waste.
Actively participate in social supervision and criticism, focusing on practicing thrift and fighting waste; focusing on resolving and thoroughly overcoming manifestations and causes leading to waste of union finance and assets.
Complete and effectively implement regulations and rules on financial and union asset management, based on practice; learn from experience while doing; do not be perfectionist or hasty; take union members and workers as the center; build a culture of thrift and anti-waste in agencies and units within the union organization system.
Along with that, research and deploy campaigns and emulation movements on practicing thrift and fighting waste, creating a vibrant and widespread emulation atmosphere among union members and workers; promptly commend, reward, and replicate advanced examples in implementing thrift and fighting waste well.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized that immediately after the conference, heads of units need to develop specialized programs and plans on practicing thrift and combating waste; review regulations and rules at the unit, and specify the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals in practicing thrift and combating waste in each stage and each area under their management.
At the same time, organize conferences to disseminate and implement thrift and waste prevention to agencies, units, cadres, union members, and workers under their management.
The conference also took time to thoroughly understand the new contents of the Trade Union Law (amended) recently passed by the National Assembly at the 8th session; thoroughly understand some contents of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient" and Conclusion 09 of the Steering Committee summarizing Resolution 18.
