According to the workers, although businesses deduct social insurance, health insurance (HI), and unemployment insurance (UI) every month, the business leaders do not pay them to the social insurance agency.
Mr. Le Tai Hon (residing in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) said that through inspection on the VssID application, Europa Joint Stock Company still owes him social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for 1 year and 9 months. Because this enterprise owes social insurance, he is not entitled to the social insurance-related benefits. "Many promises, up to now, this enterprise still does not pay social insurance, which makes me very upset" - Mr. Hon said.
Ms. Duong Thuy Lieu (residing in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) said that her European Joint Stock Company's debt to social insurance has affected the implementation of the regime related to social insurance. She hopes that law enforcement agencies will pay attention to taking action to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
"We share the difficulties with the company, but nearly 2 years have passed, and the company has not yet resolved the social insurance debt. I just hope the authorities will intervene so that workers can enjoy the regime according to regulations" - Ms. Lieu said.
Regarding the above issue, the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor issued an official dispatch to the Standing Committee of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee requesting direction for sectors to coordinate in resolving issues related to workers' rights.
According to this document, many employees of enterprises including Europa Joint Stock Company, Hung Vuong Mascado Company Limited, Hung Vuong Joint Stock Company, and Asia Joint Stock Company have come to the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor to report the situation of above enterprises owing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance, so when quitting their jobs, employees are not allowed to close their books to enjoy the regimes according to the law.
It is forecasted that the number of employees coming to report to the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to increase because according to statistics from the Social Insurance sector (at the meeting between representatives of the European Joint Stock Company and functional sectors on July 1, 2024), a total of 201 employees of the European Joint Stock Company have quit their jobs, but have not yet closed their books because this company still owes social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance from 2020 to present.
To proactively prevent workers of the above companies from filing lawsuits, gathering in large numbers, causing disorder, the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor requests the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee to continue directing functional agencies to coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee to advise and propose solutions to ensure the rights of workers according to State regulations, avoiding large gatherings, filing complaints beyond the level, especially during the Party Congresses at all levels.
According to statistics from Tien Giang Social Insurance, as of November 30, 2024, the whole Tien Giang province has 1,811 employers who are late in paying social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational accident and disease insurance, with a total amount of 165.785 billion VND.
