On December 15, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Trade Union of Social Policy Bankers (SBVBs) successfully held the 6th Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.
Ms. Nguyen Khanh Chi, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Social Policy Bank, General Director of the Social Policy Bank Duong Quyet Thang attended and gave a speech directing the congress.
In the period of 2023 - 2025, the VBSP Trade Union achieved positive results.
Notably, 100% of the targets of the Resolution of the 5th Congress of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Trade Union have been fully implemented; in which, the target under the direct responsibility of the Trade Union organization reached 7/7, including 1 target exceeded. The target of the Union participating in coordinating and directing the implementation is 8/8, of which 1 target is exceeded.
Social security activities, support, care for, and improvement of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers have been given attention, through practical and meaningful programs and activities such as supporting funding to build gratitude houses, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor, policy beneficiaries, supporting people affected by natural disasters and floods, serving Vietnamese Heroic Mothers for the rest of their lives, visiting and giving gifts to encourage poor households, policy beneficiaries, families of meritorious people, ... on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and the annual commemoration of War Invalids and Martyrs Day; accompanying the program of the Couple of Love Lists...
The work of developing union members associated with improving the quality of grassroots union activities and participating in building a clean and strong party has received attention. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the number of newly developed union members will be 684 people; 659 outstanding union members have been introduced to the Party, of which 547 union members have been admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam, contributing to improving the leadership capacity and fighting spirit of the Party organization.
The results achieved in the recent period have contributed to consolidating and enhancing the position of the Trade Union organization, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of assigned political tasks and the successful implementation of the Social Policy Development Strategy in each stage. By November 30, 2025, the total policy credit capital will reach over VND422 trillion, with an average annual growth rate of 12.2%.
In the period of 2023 - 2025, nearly 6.6 million poor households and policy beneficiaries have been granted loans with a total lending turnover of over 360 trillion VND. Policy capital has contributed to attracting and creating jobs for nearly 2.3 million workers; helping more than 240,000 students in difficult circumstances borrow capital to study; building more than 4.7 million clean water and sanitation works in rural areas; nearly 31,000 social housing units and nearly 5.5 thousand housing units for poor households and policy beneficiaries.
Speaking at the Congress, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union Nguyen Khanh Chi, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, acknowledged and commended the achievements of the VBSP Trade Union in the 2023-2025 term.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union suggested that in the coming term, the VBSP Trade Union should continue to innovate the content and methods of Trade Union activities in a professional, flexible and effective direction; promote the role of the Executive Committee of Trade Unions at all levels; pay attention to training and fostering skills and expertise for trade union staff, meeting the requirements in the new context, especially the requirements of digital transformation and communication.
better care for the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; well implement the grassroots democracy regulations, build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations; promote the core role of the Trade Union organization in gathering and uniting workers; be a reliable bridge between union members and Party committees, authorities and professionals.
Ms. Nguyen Khanh Chi also suggested that the new Executive Committee urgently develop a full-term program of activities, concretize the Congress Resolution with plans, targets, and solutions suitable to the reality of the unit; clearly assign responsibilities; perfect operating regulations, coordination regulations, and union financial regulations in accordance with the instructions of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union; organize the implementation of the Resolution in a practical and focused direction, avoiding spread and formality.
Speaking at the congress, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Social Policy Bank Party Committee, General Director of the Social Policy Bank Duong Quyet Thang called on all cadres, union members, and workers of the Social Policy Bank to unite, promote their intelligence, sense of responsibility and high determination, promote the achievements in the recent period, with a tradition of more than 20 years of building and developing the Social Policy Bank, strive to overcome difficulties to successfully implement the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Social Policy Bank, successfully implement the Social Policy Bank Development Strategy to 2030; create new position and force for the Social Policy Bank to grow stronger, contribute to building a stable, sustainable, effectively implementing social policy credit, contributing to the successful implementation of national and socio-economic development programs.
