On August 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Area Management Working Group No. 5 organized a program to care for union members and workers in the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau area.
Union members, workers and students attended the performance; participated in a prize-winning solve solve solve game, with the content of reviewing memories and traditions of the Trade Union organization.
In the program, 100 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were presented with gifts of encouragement by the union, including gifts and cash worth 1 million VND.
In addition, 20 students who are children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances and have excelled in their studies were also awarded a Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship worth 1 million VND.
Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, in charge of the Area Management Working Group No. 5 - said that this is one of the activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025); towards celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the Party Congresses at all levels.
According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Area Management Working Group No. 5 will organize a total of 1,000 gifts to those in difficult circumstances; 100 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships and 80 gifts to female workers in difficult circumstances in wards, communes, and management special zones.
"The gifts and support money given are not only material help, but also a source of spiritual encouragement, adding strength for union members and workers to overcome difficulties," said Ms. Pham Thu Huong.
In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Area Management Working Group No. 5 will visit, encourage and give gifts directly to workers at a number of enterprises. The remaining gifts will be transferred directly to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the management area.
