The origin of heroism
An Giang is a locality that established a Trade Union (CD) in the 1920s, founded by Uncle Ton (Chairman Ton Duc Thang - an outstanding son of An Giang). After many years of traveling abroad, having access to revolutionary truth, clearly recognizing the strength of the working class and the importance of the Trade Union organization, when he returned home, he laid the foundation for the Trade Union organization in his hometown of An Giang.
The workers in two major centers of the province, Long Xuyen - Chau Doc, under the direct guidance of Uncle Ton, soon built for himself an important political organization - the early organization of the Association. This is a successful construction basis for the Red Association, Ai Huu, Union, National Salvation workers, and forerunner of the Vietnam Community. The introduction of the Association's organization is an important premise for An Giang workers to absorb the revolutionary doctrine by Vietnamese revolutionary Vietnamese members in 1927 - 1930.
Especially in April 1930s, with the establishment of the first Communist Party Cell in Cho Moi and its rapid development to other areas in the province, An Giang had a pioneering team of the CN class officially taking on the historic mission, steering revolutionary boats, contributing with the army and people to create many achievements throughout the resistance against French colonialism and American domination.
Especially in the Spring General Strike of 1975, workers in Long Xuyen - Chau Doc had many outstanding feats in protecting factories, offices, and people's assets and maintaining operations immediately after peace was restored.
Dynamic construction of homeland
After the day of national reunification and promotion of dynamism, An Giang Trade Union (CDAG) continues to innovate content and methods of operation, motivating workers to work enthusiastically with a creative spirit, contributing with the Party and State to help their homeland overcome difficulties, develop and integrate internationally. In the early days of liberation, thousands of An Giang workers were unemployed and lacked jobs due to many production facilities stopping operations due to lack of capital, raw materials...
Under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, theAG Trade Union has deeply mobilized workers to promote the revolutionary tradition of Uncle Ton's hometown in all fields of employment. Thanks to that, by the end of 1976, the production situation gradually stabilized, creating an important premise for the following years.

Entering the market economy, the college moves in the direction of creating, creating many good models and practical ways. Including many leading models in the region and the whole country, such as: "Murder of the basis, near industry"; "3 An" among the enterprises with the organization of colleges "; Hot "," specialized team "to receive information, supervision and support for workers and employers.
Long-term worries
In particular, the Trade Union ofAG also has many creative ways to take care of their spiritual life, creating a long-term effect for members and employees. As early as 1995, the Trade Union Social Fund was established and a part was allocated to establish the Ton Duc Thang Scholarship Fund to support children of union members and workers to overcome difficulties and study well. After 29 times of organization, over 2,100 high school students have been supported with a total amount of over 2 billion VND. In 2021, the Trade Union ofAG advised and proposed the People's Committee of An Giang province to establish the Ton Duc Thang Award to honor and reward good workers and outstanding workers with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.
In addition, with the support of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported nearly 80 billion VND for the Trade Union to invest in building a Labor Culture House, a Kindergarten and cultural and sports playgrounds in Binh Hoa and Binh Long Industrial Parks, in order to create a healthy playground, take care of the physical and spiritual life, and create a long-term effect for workers.
For those achievements, the Trade Union of Industry and Trade was awarded many noble titles: Grade II Labor Medal (1998), Grade I Labor Medal (2005), Grade III Independence Medal 2009 and Grade II 2014 Independence Medal; and was awarded many Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit by the Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
