Support 161 workers to file lawsuits to claim their rights
News from the Da Nang City Labor Federation on November 28 said: The City Labor Union's full-time staff union held its 1st Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The congress was attended and directed by Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation.
The grassroots union of full-time cadres of the City Union has 106 union members. After being established under Decision No. 1060/QD-LDLD dated September 19, 2025, the City Trade Union's full-time staff has gradually improved the organization and effectively implemented key tasks.
The trade union organization quickly built a apparatus consisting of 5 Executive Committee members, 4 Trade Union groups and the Mass Women's Union, at the same time assigning tasks, issuing internal spending regulations and financial regulations, ensuring orderly and unified operations.
In the field of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of union members, the Trade Union has contributed comments on many draft documents related to workers; guided the grassroots to develop regulations, salary scales, regulations on salary increase, training, and rewards.
Legal consultancy work is focused on, with hundreds of cases supported directly and online; the City Labor Federation alone handled 6 petitions, consulted more than 30 cases by phone and supported 161 workers to file lawsuits against enterprises in court to claim their rights.
Care activities are implemented promptly: visiting 9 union members affected by natural disasters, wishing them birthdays, supporting access to preferential loans and information about social housing.
In the work of building the organization, the Trade Union has implemented organizational innovation programs under the direction of superiors, completed the conversion of the model according to the two-level government; recognized 19 new union members from the local cadre team.
Emulation activities achieved positive results, 3 union members were honored at the Emulation Congress at the General Confederation level. The Women's Union has organized many caring activities such as giving 125 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts and 60 gifts on October 20.
Building a model grassroots trade union
In the coming term, the Da Nang City Trade Union's full-time staff will focus on strongly innovating the organization and methods of operation, ensuring compliance with the two-level local government model and the requirements of the context of digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution.
The union aims to improve the capacity to represent, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members; promote legal advice, support workers in labor relations and participate in giving policy opinions.
The union focuses on perfecting the organization, improving the quality of activities, building a team of union members with courage, expertise, and skills to meet new requirements; strengthening transparent financial inspection, supervision, and management. Proactively innovate, be creative, and adapt promptly to build a strong Trade Union organization, a reliable support for union members.
Speaking at the congress, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, requested the City Labor Union to build a model grassroots union, from which, grassroots unions across the city can learn.
At the same time, it is required that each union member, and at the same time, a full-time union official, uphold a sense of responsibility, build a strong grassroots union, thereby, building a union organization to develop more and more.
The conference announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation to appoint the Executive Committee of the City Trade Union's full-time staff, consisting of 5 comrades, and the Inspection Committee of 3 comrades.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the City Labor Federation, was appointed as Chairwoman of the City Labor Union's full-time staff for the 2025-2030 term.
