According to the report "Recruitment Trends for the third quarter of 2025" conducted by ManpowerGroup based on interviews with more than 12,434 employers in 10 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East (APME) region, an increasingly clear trend: 23% of businesses said they will not find replacements when employees voluntarily quit. This is no longer a passive decision due to difficulties, but has become a deliberate strategy.
Explaining this trend, Manpower Vietnam believes that instead of rushing to fill vacant positions, businesses are investing in building replacement plans, internal training, developing the capacity of successor teams, etc.
For workers, they may have to take on additional work from retired colleagues, creating a lot of pressure; at the same time, this is also a golden opportunity to prove their ability, learn more skills and be considered for higher positions in the company.
According to the report, another trend that is reshaping the labor market strongly is automation. The report shows that 63% of businesses in the region are increasing investment in technology to automate repetitive processes and tasks. This wave not only affects factory workers, but also has a profound impact on many areas.
According to the forecast, locations related to information technology and data; production and processing; operations and logistics will be most strongly affected in the next 5 years. These jobs require workers to have new skills to work with machinery and technology.
In short, the labor market is entering a period of profound transformation. Job opportunities still exist, but at the same time, there are increasingly strict requirements for skills and flexibility. Any worker who proactively grasps these underlying changes, continuously improves and improves his/her capacity will be the one to have a solid position and master the career path in the new context.
