The 5th National Innovative Startup and Vietnam's Opportunities

On December 8, 2024, speaking at the "5th National Innovative Startup Forum - 2024" with the theme "Artificial intelligence technology and cross-border e-commerce" organized by the National Startup Association in coordination with Quang Nam province and co-organized agencies (taking place from December 8-10, 2024), Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa - Chairman of the National Startup Association (viNen) - shared: Promoting innovative startups, contributing to building a solid foundation for innovative startups in the field of technology and cross-border e-commerce.

"Improving the quality of education, integrating elements of entrepreneurship and innovation into education helps students develop skills and creative thinking right from school. Strengthening competitiveness, supporting universities and businesses to improve their competitiveness through applying technology and innovation into practice" - Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa emphasized.

Attending the forum, Mr. Nguyen Hieu Ba - Director of the Lihe - Nanning Innovation Center (under the Shenzhen Innovation Center, China) - also emphasized: "Hopefully, through the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Forum held in Vietnam this time, the experience of technological innovation of China and Shenzhen technology companies will be brought to Vietnam, so that Chinese technology companies and Vietnamese technology companies can exchange in depth, better understand Shenzhen's technology, the layout of companies in Vietnam and Vietnamese technology companies"...

Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Nam - also said: "The more we integrate, the more we realize that: Indigenous resources, the value of each country is a comparative advantage. Promoting local entrepreneurial spirit is promoting comparative advantages, aiming to connect and expand international cooperation so that the local ecosystem aspires to reach out and integrate, which is important and decisive in the new era: Innovation for development" - Mr. Sinh said.

Vietnam always cares about promoting national startups.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technology 5.0 are creating opportunities for countries like Vietnam to compete with advanced countries in the world. Accordingly, promoting startups is one of the most important achievements of the economic reform in Vietnam, emphasized in Party Congress documents, since the 6th Party Congress documents (1986) with a focus on encouraging the strong development of the household and private economic sectors.

The Government chose 2016 as the year of the national startup, from which the entrepreneurial spirit was spread, the business investment environment was improved, innovative enterprises rose up, contributing to promoting the nation to enter a "New Era - the era of national growth".

In recent years, the Government and the Prime Minister have paid attention to, directed the development and promulgation of many mechanisms and policies to promote the application, transfer of technology and innovation. Thanks to that, favorable framework conditions for the development of the national innovation system have been formed, such as: Policies on ensuring intellectual property rights, innovation in science and technology activities, simplifying administrative procedures, developing funds to support and develop science, technology and innovation, strengthening the close connection between scientific research and production and business, etc.

From there, policies on encouraging businesses to invest in research and development, developing the science and technology market, science and technology businesses, creative startups, etc. are also of great interest.
