Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App can reduce "App chaos"

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Integrating many features from existing applications into the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App will help people more easily use existing utilities.

The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App was launched on November 14 with 12 groups of features, creating a two-way communication channel between the city government and the people with easy and convenient "one-touch" interaction.

After downloading, people log in to use it only once through their Vietnamese citizen's electronic identification account (VNeID account).

Speaking to the media, Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, answered some key questions related to the Digital Citizen App.

“The deployment of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App is not intended to replace VNeID but to integrate VNeID identification, helping people log in only once and use the utilities provided by the application. The functions of the two applications complement each other, do not overlap or cause trouble for users because of different usage purposes and integration through identification accounts,” Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh shared.

Before the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App, people in Ho Chi Minh City had many other applications such as the 1022 Ho Chi Minh City switchboard, Thu Duc City... In addition, some other Apps such as Public Services, Electronic Health Book, eTax mobile... also have many similar features to the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App... This makes many people worry about the overlapping situation when people have to use too many applications.

However, according to Ms. Trinh, people can feel secure using the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App. She shared: “The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App aims to integrate many features from existing applications such as the HCM 1022 Call Center, VssID and applications that will be added later such as the Public Service App, Traffic Order, Electronic Health Book, eTax mobile and other utilities into a common platform to minimize the situation of “App chaos”.

We believe that with the practical benefits the App brings, along with the source of authentic, updated information, the ease and convenience of use will help people feel secure in using this utility."

According to Ms. Trinh, installing the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App is completely voluntary. Most importantly, through the use of this application, people will have many utilities in looking up, monitoring the progress of processing records, reflecting and making recommendations, and using public services more conveniently...

One of the biggest concerns of people when using the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen App is related to security issues.

According to Ms. Trinh, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center has prepared the infrastructure to ensure the application operates smoothly and seamlessly, ensuring high information security. "User data is protected according to the provisions of Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection," Ms. Trinh said.

Also according to the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, in the coming time, the locality will listen to users' opinions to continue perfecting the application, adding practical features, avoiding overlap, and optimizing the experience.
