In September 2024, Apple announced that it would launch the Powerbeats Pro 2 in 2025. According to the latest information from Bloomberg's Power On newsletter written by Mark Gurman, this wireless headphone line could be introduced very soon.
Apple previously registered the product on regulatory databases last month and is now planning to hold media briefings "in about a week" to showcase the new features.
The Powerbeats Pro have long been known as a sports option, with a focus on support and adjustable ear hooks for a secure fit. Apple's introductory video last year showed baseball star Shohei Ohtani using the Powerbeats Pro 2.
The new headphones have a slimmer, more vertical design than the previous Powerbeats Pro version.
According to information from the iOS 18 source code, Powerbeats Pro 2 will support heart rate monitoring during exercise. Users can connect the headphones to devices such as treadmills to measure heart rate and this data will be displayed in the Health app and other compatible apps on the iPhone.
Powerbeats Pro 2 is also confirmed to integrate Active Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio and Adaptive Audio. Notably, the charging case will use a USB-C port, in line with the new standard.
With the above outstanding features, Powerbeats Pro 2 promises to become a worthy choice for users who love sports and technology.
