Some anonymous sources from the supply chain revealed that Apple will prioritize launching high-end models first, meaning the iPhone Pro series will continue to appear in the fall, while standard models will be pushed back to spring next year.
This is a remarkable shift from the traditional release schedule, when Apple often announces the entire product line at the same time. This change may be to create space for new devices, such as the long-standing rumored foldable iPhone model.
If the information is correct, Apple will launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and possibly a foldable iPhone in the fall of 2026, then introduce the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Slim and iPhone 18e in the spring of 2027.
In fact, for those who are closely following Apple products, this change is not too surprising. While the company has maintained a September or 10 launch schedule every year since the iPhone 5 era, Apple has broken through with the iPhone SE series typically introduced in March or April. Apple recently launched the iPhone 16e in February as a replacement for the SE series.
For the iPhone 17, Apple is still expected to keep its annual schedule, with four new devices expected to launch in September.
