Economic development cooperation
Last February, Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - signed a decision approving the integrated component of the proposal to link economic development cooperation with the provinces in the South Central Coast, Central - Central Highlands and the East-West 2 Economic Corridor.
Da Nang develops concentrated information technology parks and software park chains, promoting research and production of digital technology. The city expands Da Nang Software Park, builds a national key Information Technology Park, and attracts domestic and foreign investment.
Da Nang aims to become a leading information technology service center in Vietnam and ASEAN, providing telecommunications, electronic chips, software, BPO and expanding international markets.
The city also promotes domestic and international cooperation in artificial intelligence, microchips, semiconductors, promotes scientific research, technology transfer, inventory exploitation and intellectual property. At the same time, Da Nang aims to become a center for research and application of artificial intelligence and semiconductor microchips in the Central - Central Highlands, attracting experts, businesses and leading organizations.
Legal problems hinder exploitation of Software Park
Although Software Park No. 2 (phase 1) was opened on January 16, marking an important step forward in the development of the digital economy and digital technology industry in Da Nang, the exploitation of information infrastructure here is still facing some legal problems.
The Department of Construction has accepted the completion of the project, but the Project Management Board is still completing the handover procedures. This leads to the City People's Committee not being able to hand over Software Park No. 2 to the exploitation management unit, as well as not having enough legal basis to organize a site auction for lease.
However, due to great demand from businesses, with nearly 30 units registered to rent premises at ICT1 building, exceeding the exploitation area, the People's Council of Da Nang City approved the proposal to exploit information infrastructure for completed items of Software Park No. 2. This document aims to avoid wasting public assets, meet the needs of businesses, promote the development of the digital technology industry, digital economy, and at the same time implement the goals according to Resolution 57-NQ/TW on national digital transformation.
The Economic - Budget Committee and the People's Council of Da Nang City also support this policy and emphasize the importance of effectively and promptly exploiting public assets. The Committee also requested the City People's Committee to proactively research and develop an exploitation plan in accordance with regulations, contributing to the development of the information technology industry, one of the city's spearhead economic sectors according to Resolution 136 of the National Assembly.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with 3 strategic partners, including Marvell, FPT and Sovico, in the field of microchip and artificial intelligence also shows Da Nang's determination to develop the high-tech industry.
