On current iPhone 17 Pro models, Apple uses a separate case of glass on the rear to serve MagSafe charging. This creates a color difference between the aluminum frame of the device and the Ceramic Shield 2 glass, making the overall device look "double-tone".
According to leaked sources, that will change with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple is said to have improved the process of "replacing rear glasses", helping to reduce the color difference between glasses and aluminum frames, bringing a more unified and sophisticated look.
If this leak is correct, the iPhone 18 Pro will continue to demonstrate Apple's product completion philosophy: streamlining the design, unifying materials and enhancing the high-end feel.
The change from structure to material, combined with the power of new hardware, can help the iPhone 18 Pro become one of Apple's biggest advances in the 2026 upgrade cycle, not only more beautiful, but also more powerful and modern in both technology and user experience.
In addition to the design changes, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to be equipped with the A20 Pro chip manufactured on TSMC's most advanced 2nm process, along with the Apple C2 modem instead of the Qualcomm modem.
Both models are expected to launch with Apple's first foldable iPhone in September 2026.
