Da Nang expects a $200 million AI Data Center

On the morning of August 28 at Da Nang High-Tech Park, IPTP Networks held a launching ceremony for the AIDC DeCenter Data Center project.

The event was attended by Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee - along with leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee, representatives of local departments, branches, and sectors, investment funds, and domestic and foreign experts.

AIDC DeCenter is one of the first AI-Ready Data Centers in Vietnam, designed according to the 3+/ Tier 4 Uptime standard complex subdivision model, aiming to become a core infrastructure platform for high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and cloud computing services.

The project is co-founded and operated by IPTP Networks - a global telecommunications and infrastructure group with more than 29 years of experience in the field of data centers and was ranked Top 40 in the world in 2018 (ASRanking) for Internet service providers. IPTP Networks currently owns infrastructure in more than 70 data centers in 66 cities in 37 countries, serving over 5,000 global corporate customers.

AIDC DeCenter has a scale of 2 floors, a total area of 10,000m2, a capacity of 1,000 racks, a minimum capacity of 10MW. The total investment capital of the project is 200 million USD (of which, phase 1 is 20 million USD) and is expected to start construction on March 29, 2026.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - said that the AIDC DeCenter Data Center project is an important milestone for the economic development of Da Nang in general and Da Nang High-Tech Park in particular. According to the plan, by the fourth quarter of 2027, this data center will be put into operation.

The successful attraction of the data center project to the Da Nang High-Tech Park is a testament to the strong development of Da Nang as a high-tech center of the Central - Central Highlands region.

First of all, it promotes the development of information technology infrastructure, supports cloud computing systems, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things to operate stably, creating a foundation for agencies and businesses to deploy digital solutions, optimize operations, and improve productivity" - Mr. Tran Chi Cuong said.

According to the leader of Da Nang city, the project also helps increase budget revenue, develop ancillary services and enhance the locality's position on the global technology map. This is a strategic driving force for sustainable economic growth and national modernization.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Vladimir Kangin ( CEO IPTP Networks) emphasized that AIDC DeCenter is not only a data center, but the first international digital infrastructure ecosystem to be founded in Vietnam.

He believes that IPTP Networks will create a safe - efficient - sustainable infrastructure, capable of meeting the most demanding computing problems of the AI and blockchain era.

I believe that, from Da Nang, AIDC DeCenter will become a new technology gateway to Southeast Asia, helping Vietnam seize opportunities and rise strongly in the global infrastructure race - Mr. Vladimir Kangin said.
