On January 16, Software Park No. 2 officially came into operation and put into use the 8-storey ICT1 building with a total floor area of over 39,000m2, and an exploitation area of 21,000m2. Priority is given to strategic partners, strategic investors, small businesses, innovative businesses in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors. Currently, more than 30 businesses have registered their demand for office space at ICT1 Building with a total registered area of about 25,000m2.
According to Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Concentrated Information Technology Zone Software Park No. 2 is identified as a driving force and key project to realize the policies and orientations of the Politburo in Conclusion No. 79 and Resolution No. 136 on organizing the urban government model and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the city's development. Especially Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
And Software Park No. 2 will promote new, modern production methods, focusing on new key areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and financial technology (fintech). Thereby contributing to the development of the digital technology industry to become a key economic sector with an annual revenue growth rate of 2-2.5 times the city's GRDP growth rate. It is expected that by 2030, the digital economy will account for 35-40% of the city's GRDP, while aiming to complete the goal of "By 2030, completing the construction of a smart city synchronously connecting smart urban networks in the country and Southeast Asia" and the goal by 2045 "Da Nang City becomes a large, ecological and smart city, a center for startups, innovation and a livable coastal city reaching the level of the Asian region" in the spirit of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
"The country is entering a new era, an era of national growth. The Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city will focus, be determined, make efforts, unite, and join hands to become an important core of this new era. At the same time, contribute to the successful implementation of the country's strategic goals," Mr. Le Trung Chinh affirmed.
