Galaxy Watch may soon allow gesture control of TV

New findings suggest that Samsung's Galaxy Watch could soon allow you to control your TV with hand gestures.

Do you often lose your TV remote or find it annoying to get up just to get it? These problems could soon be a thing of the past. Samsung appears to be working on a feature that will let you control your TV with just your Galaxy Watch.

In the new version of the SmartThings app on Wear OS (1.3.12.9), some code has revealed a new feature called "Pointer Mode". This feature is expected to be exclusive to the Galaxy smartwatch line.

According to leaked information, Pointer Mode will use hand gestures, such as wrist and finger movements for control. This feature is quite similar to the control gestures on Vision Pro or Apple Watch.

For example, users can shake their hand to activate Pointer Mode; Pinch to select a channel; Make a fist to return to the previous channel; Make a fist twice in a row to return to the main interface.

While these snippets provide a glimpse of upcoming features, they don't always appear in the official release.

However, Pointer Mode still promises to bring a breakthrough technology experience, opening up new potential uses for Samsung's wearable devices.
