Google Play may soon have a new interface

At the I/O 2025 event, Google revealed a new design for the Google Play Store, marking the next step in its efforts to turn it into "more than a store".

Google shares that the new interface is being developed with a focus on making the marketplace less complicated and more fun. The new design focuses on dynamic discovery experiences, with a completely new App Home interface.

Instead of traditional rectangular banners, users will see images or videos displayed with border, highlighted from the beginning. For example, an ongoing music event is being promoted with a suggestion of using YouTube Music for live viewing.

Familiar session session session like For You, top Rating, Other Equipment, Children or Works no longer appear clearly.

Instead, when scrolled down, users will see items like discovering more or Just-use app.

The app banners are still retained but are made larger, with groups like You Will Like or Related New App.

In addition, there are big titles like Up date your top 5 or The hot app worth trying.

In each application page, Google also revealed a prominent content bang interface located at the top of the page, along with a sound model that can be listened to live.

With this change, Google expects Google Play to become a vibrant digital content discovery hub, not just a place to download apps.
