Many outstanding products and technologies
The Electricity Science and Technology Exhibition - Techshow 2025 organized by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) in collaboration with Vietnam Electricity Association on November 27 - 28 shows the strong progress of science and technology in the Vietnam Electricity industry, from smart grid, SCADA, DMS, OMS, AI camera, IoT to transmission and distribution technology, UAVs, Lidar, power plant management and operation systems, industrial network security, power saving solutions, renewable energy, ...
In that technological picture, the booth of Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) leaves a strong impression with many outstanding products.
One of the biggest attractions is the tabletop model recreating two key projects: the 110 kV Ha Tien - Phu Quoc underground cable line ( begun construction in 2010, operation in 2014) and the 220 kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line ( begun construction in 2019, operation in phase 1 from 2022) - the longest 220 kV sea-crossing line in Southeast Asia. The two projects will increase the total transmission capacity to the island by 5-6 times, ensuring electricity demand by 2035, creating a foundation for Phu Quoc to develop into a high-quality tourism center and an important economic zone of the region.
In the field of construction investment, EVNSPC also introduces two advanced technologies: BIM application in design - construction - operation of 110220 kV projects and the scan to BIM solution to recreate the entire project's virtual model, supporting repair, maintenance and smart operation.

In the group of technical solutions, remote control equipment for cleaning and isolating hotlines is a notable breakthrough. This technology allows cleaning the isolation with high pressure water without cutting off the power, doubling labor productivity and eliminating the risk of having to climb manual operating poles. The system has flexible control, easy to operate and is suitable for the 22 kV power grid.
EVNSPC's solutions applying artificial intelligence (AI) also clearly demonstrate the strong digital transformation orientation, typically: Using AI to analyze local power generation signals; applying AI to monitor labor safety; AI to diagnose transformer failures using soluble gas analysis.
In addition to the group of technical solutions, EVNSPC also brings products for customer management, internal communication and data management, such as E-TV application or customer branch program displaying the current status of the power grid on a digital map, etc.
Sharing many in-depth research
At the distribution and customer service session, Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan - Deputy General Director of EVNSPC - presented the solution of Forecasting electricity loads in the southern region of Vietnam using the Rolling SARimaX model combined with export-lated variants. This is a study to build and compare forecast models to find optimal solutions to the problem of short-term power load forecasting in the southern provinces of Vietnam (excluding Ho Chi Minh City).

Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan said that in the Southern region, where there is high economic growth rate and the demand for electricity is constantly increasing, accurate forecasting becomes especially important. In particular, in the context of increasing electricity consumption demand, affected by complex factors such as weather, socio-economic conditions and unusual events, practice requires forecast models to be accurate and highly adaptive.
This study proposes implementing a Rolling SARimaX model using a rolling forecasting method, in which the model is continuously updated with the latest data to improve the ability to adapt to real-life fluctuations. Test results on daily power load data from 2021-2024 show that the Rolling SARimaX model is performing well with an average absolute percentage error (MAPE) of only 1.79%.
In addition, EVNSPC also presented notable presentations such as: Analyzing the capacity to receive distributed sources and the role in sustainable energy transition in Vietnam; Applying artificial intelligence and soluble gas analysis techniques in oil to develop a diagnostics program for underlying problems in pressure transformers; Applying the multi-layered NEURON network in analyzing local power generation signal characteristics...
At the Conference, delegates attended and participated in donating and supporting people affected by natural disasters and floods, with a total amount of over 124 million VND.
