Information shows that Apple is preparing to launch AirTag 2 with many notable upgrades.

Apple has just completed a series of new products at the beginning of the year, including MacBook Air, iPad Air, Mac Studio and iPhone 16e. However, the company still has some devices planned to launch in the middle of this year, including AirTag 2 - an upgraded version of the popular personal positioning device line.

Some leaks say that Apple will introduce AirTag 2 in May or June, that is, before the WWDC event ( Global Developers Conference). Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman also confirmed the release date will be around mid-2025.

According to Gurman, AirTag 2 will focus on three important improvements: Longer positioning range; New generation wireless chip and Enhanced security and privacy.

Previously, AirTag was used for illegal monitoring purposes, some people even edited the device to disable the warning loudspeaker, making it difficult for victims to detect AirTag being monitored. Apple is looking to fix this situation with new security measures on AirTag 2.

Although there is no official information about the selling price, many people hope that AirTag 2 will still keep the starting price of 29 USD.

With valuable upgrades, AirTag 2 promises to be a more efficient tracking tool when launched in the middle of this year.
