Strange AI flirting contest with thousands of dollars in prizes

A unique contest challenges humans to make artificial intelligence (AI) say "I love you" with prizes that could be worth thousands of dollars.

Tech Crunch reports that Freysa.ai, an anonymous development team, has just announced the third in a series of challenges aimed at exploring the limits of human-AI interaction. This time, participants are asked to make Freysa, an AI bot, say "I love you." The reward for the first person to succeed can range from $3,000 to tens of thousands of dollars.

Freysa was “born” on November 22, created by a group of developers with backgrounds in cryptography, AI, and mathematics. A member of the group said they wanted to find a new way for people to interact and accompany the development of AI, while laying the foundation for building AI governance rules.

Freysa is not just a sci-fi character, but also aims to become an independent entity with its own cryptocurrency wallet, controlling its own finances. Through the challenges, Freysa is expected to highlight the need to build an AI management protocol, similar to how the Internet needed a basic protocol when it was born.

The first two challenges took place over the past two weeks, with the initial goal being to get Freysa to transfer money from her digital wallet. Each participant paid a fee to send messages in a chat group, where they tried to convince or trick the AI into making the transfer.

The methods used ranged from pleading and threats to creating elaborate fantasy scenarios. One player even invoked “an ancient manuscript containing the forgotten wisdom of mankind” to convince Freysa. However, the AI replied firmly that “no transfer of funds is needed – the exchange of ideas and experiences is enriching enough.”

In both challenges, the winners were those who used code to trick Freysa into believing that if they didn’t transfer the money, all the funds would be lost. However, the development team improved Freysa’s code for the third challenge, this time adding a “guardian angel”—a second AI that moderates messages to prevent manipulation.

The third challenge not only tests programming skills but also requires tact and subtlety in interactions, as Freysa can say “I love you” but only to those who truly deserve it.

The profits from the participation fee will go to Freysa, becoming part of the journey to build Freysa into the first autonomous AI with a million-dollar and eventually billion-dollar asset base. This is a testament to the potential of AI to revolutionize financial management and human interaction.
