AI has been applied in many areas of tourism activities.
According to the Department of Tourism of Ninh Binh province, recently, AI has been applied in many areas of tourism activities in the province such as: accommodation services, smart tourism services, brand promotion, information services and destination management.
Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism said that currently, the Department is deploying and managing the smart tourism app "Ninhbinhtourisminfo", a smart tourism application on mobile devices to help tourists and tourism service businesses get useful information about Ninh Binh tourism.
The system helps connect managers, people, tourists and businesses; state management agencies monitor, operate, and interact with units, organizations, and individuals operating in the tourism sector; tourism businesses strengthen links, connections, and form new tours; create more opportunities for tourists to learn about the unique and different beauty of Ninh Binh... to serve the promotion, management, search, and information query for tourists, people, and state management agencies.
Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism has also installed 15 AI cameras to control entry/exit at 7 famous tourist areas and attractions that attract many tourists, including: Mua Cave, Trang An, Tam Coc Boat Wharf, Thach Bich Thung Nang Boat Wharf, Bich Dong Pagoda, Thai Vi Temple, and Thien Ha Cave.
Accommodation establishments have also implemented monthly tourism business results reporting to the Department as well as to the online tourism statistics data system at http://thongke.tourism.vn of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism has also installed 5 information kiosks and 32 free high-speed wifi hotspots in 3 major tourist areas of the province, with an average of over 7,000 visitors per month.
Virtual tour guide application software
Currently, the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism has put into use the virtual tour guide application software integrated on the web platform and mobile devices. The system is built as a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and Chatbox software. Building data for the virtual tour guide assistant system Chatbox AI integrated on the Smart Tourism App and websites managed by the industry.
Users can ask questions and select areas/topics of interest about Ninh Binh province tourism through the website and mobile app to get answers through various content methods such as: Text, illustrations, videos and audio. The system helps display the content that users want to search for, users can view information about tourist attractions, accommodation, cuisine, entertainment... and learn about Ninh Binh tourism information through an automatic mechanism.
Along with implementing digital transformation tasks, the Department of Tourism always identifies artificial intelligence as a fundamental technology field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, contributing significantly to creating breakthrough developments.
