Windows Hello is an alternative to traditional passwords, designed to help log in to PC Windows 11 more securely and conveniently.
Windows Hello supports unlocking with biometric information such as face, fingerprint or eye scanning. It also includes some non-biometric options, such as pin code or USB security key.
The deployment of Microsoft's facial recognition in Windows Hello will analyze the near-extreme pink image of the user's face to build a description of the facial features instead of storing the user's image, then every time they log in, the computer will compare what it sees with the description on the file.
How to set up Windows Hello with webcam
To set up facial recognition on Windows 11, follow these steps:
- click Start, type sign in options in the search bar, then Enter. In addition, users can open it in the following way: Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Next, click on a small V shape in the Sign in options window and then click Set Up. If you dont see the Setup option in this step, it means your webcam is not compatible with Windows Hello.
- The Welcome to Windows Hello window will pop up, clicking get Started at the bottom left.
- If you have a PIN set, you will be prompted to enter that code in the Windows Security box.
- Next, follow the suggestions and make sure that the face is centered in the frame. It may take a few seconds for the computer to perform the analysis. After completion, users will be able to use Windows Hello to unlock the computer with their face.
