At an event in Mexico City recently, Satya Nadella - Chairman and CEO of Microsoft said that the group will invest in the above project to improve the AI infrastructure, promote digital skills and use AI applications of users in Mexico in particular and Latin America in general.
In addition, this project will also help users improve connectivity, promote the application of AI, as well as accelerate the digital transformation process in the business operations of small and medium-sized enterprises in Mexico.
Mr. Satya Nadella also highlighted the importance of AI in the new era, thereby contributing to creating opportunities and promoting comprehensive growth in all fields, industries and countries around the world, including Mexico.
The leader of this US-based multinational technology corporation emphasized that the group's investment in Latin America's second largest economy will help ensure that people and organizations here benefit from innovation and technological development.
It is known that this is the second time Microsoft has announced a major investment in Mexico in the past 4 years. Previously, in 2020, the company also announced a plan to "innovate for Mexico" with an investment value of up to 1.1 billion USD in a 5-year period, focusing on developing a large-scale super cloud data center in Queretaro state.
This is Microsoft's first cloud data center established in Latin America, officially opened in May 2024 to contribute to accelerating the digital transformation process in this region.
