At the recent event in Mexico City, Satya Nadella - President and CEO of Microsoft said that the corporation will invest in the above project to improve AI infrastructure, promote digital skills and use AI applications by users in Mexico in particular and Latin America in general.
In addition, this project will also help users improve connectivity, promote AI adoption, and accelerate digital transformation in the business operations of small and medium-sized enterprises in Mexico.
Mr. Satya Nadella also highlighted the importance of AI in the new era, thereby contributing to creating opportunities and promoting comprehensive growth in all fields, industries and countries around the world, including Mexico.
The leader of this US-based multinational technology corporation emphasized that the corporation's investment in Latin America's second largest economy will help ensure that people and organizations here benefit from innovation and technological development.
This is the second time Microsoft has announced a major investment in Mexico in the past four years. Previously, in 2020, the company also announced a plan to “innovate Mexico” with an investment value of up to 1.1 billion USD over a period of 5 years, focusing on developing a hyperscale cloud data center in the state of Queretaro.
This is Microsoft's first cloud data center set up in Latin America, officially opened in May 2024 to contribute to accelerating the digital transformation process in this region.
