Facebook announced an update on October 5 to make it easier for users to decide what content they want to watch on their News feed, according to 9to5mac.
Add the options more Display and Less Display
As reported in a Meta blog post, the updates to Facebook News feed are aimed at making display content more suitable for users.
Accordingly, starting from October 5, users will see the options of " more display" and "less display" for each post on this social network.
Facebooks algorithms will use their replies to change what is displayed on New Feeds to match.
More specifically, Facebook will have rankings for each post on social networks. When you select the Show more option, Facebook will temporarily increase the score for that post and related content. When you select Show less, the platform will temporarily reduce the score for that content. Scores are used to determine what you see in your data source.
By providing more ways to incorporate live feedback into our Sources ratings, we are making our AI systems smarter and respond faster, the company said.
At first, users will see new periodic options directly on their News feed. In this way, Facebook hopes to help users become more familiar with the new feature.
However, you can find the more Display and Less Display options at any time by clicking on the three- stop menu on each post.
The company is also rolling out new options that allow users to control which content they want to see more or less in the data source.
Meta criticized for pushing up suggested content
These changes to Facebook came at a time when Instagram was criticized for encouraging users to watch too much suggested content in their data sources.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently said that Instagram will display more suggested content.
However, these changes have been postponed indefinitely after even celebrities complained about it.
For the changes to New Feeds Facebook, these changes are currently being rolled out to users.
