According to Tech Crunch, this will be the third time Mr. Trump has delayed the ban on this famous video platform.
Speaking in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" program on April 4 (local time), Mr. Trump shared that if the deadline on June 19 had not yet been completed, he would give TikTok another chance.
Maybe I shouldnt say this, but I have a little sympathy for TikTok, he said.
Previously, the US Congress passed a law requiring Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell TikTok if it wanted the app to continue operating, otherwise TikTok would be banned. The ban was activated in January, causing TikTok to temporarily disappear from the app distribution platform for a short time.
However, President Trump has announced a postponement of the ban for 90 days, expressing his desire to see a joint venture model with the participation of domestic owners.
At the next deadline in April, he continued to extend the deadline by 75 days, citing dissatisfaction from the Chinese government regarding the counterpart tariffs.
It is unclear whether the parties can reach a deal before a new deadline, while political and economic factors related to bilateral relations remain complicated.
However, Mr. Trump's continued grassroots trade shows some caution in handling an issue that is attracting widespread attention from both young people and investors.
