Openai may be silently developing social networks

According to a new report from The Verge, Openai is building an internal prototype for a social networking platform similar to X (formerly Twitter).

Although there is not much specific information, the report indicates that this feature is being tested integrated into the image creation tool of chatgpt as a "social feed".

It is not clear that Openai will develop this social network in the form of an independent application or only integrated directly in the chatgpt application. However, the current prototype shows the ability to integrate is high. Notably, CEO Sam Altman is said to have silently consulted from some people outside the company about this idea.

A possible motivation behind this step is that Openai wants to collect data in real time from users - an important resource to train their AI models.

In addition, this can also be a strategic step to diversify business activities in the context of increasingly fierce technology competition.

It is unclear whether Openai has officially launched this social network, the internal test move shows that the company is seeking to expand its influence outside the traditional AI field.

If the project is successful, it not only changes the way users interact with artificial intelligence tools, but also creates a new arena, where Openai directly compete with the giants in the industry both in technology and global influential ambition.
