Samsung prepares to launch AR smart glasses

TRÍ MINH (THEO phonearena) |

Samsung is expected to reveal some information about its highly anticipated AR smart glasses at its upcoming Unpacked event.

Although details are still limited at the moment, according to reports, this line of smart glasses is being developed by Samsung in cooperation with Qualcomm and Google, using advanced chips and the Gemini artificial intelligence model.

The design of the glasses is rumored to be similar to regular eyeglasses, weighing about 50 grams, providing lightness and convenience for daily use.

The launch will put Samsung in direct competition with big names like Meta – currently leading the AR glasses market – and other strong rivals like Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi.

At the same time, the launch of AR glasses shows that Samsung is not only stopping at developing smartphones but is also expanding into new technology devices. With a focus on artificial intelligence, practical design and high applicability, Samsung's AR glasses are expected to be the key for the company to approach areas such as education, healthcare, entertainment, and remote work.

Meanwhile, the focus of the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event will still be the Galaxy S25 series, scheduled for January 22, 2025, according to sources from Korea. This new product will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor, bringing breakthrough AI capabilities.
