Samsung brings live translation to TV

At CES 2025, Samsung announced that it will bring Live Translate to its new TV line.

Live Translate provides real-time translation for live TV shows. The feature supports live subtitle translation instead of listening to and processing the audio. It will initially work with 7 different languages. However, it is currently unclear which languages will be supported.

Live Translate was first introduced on the Galaxy S24 series in early 2024. It now works in 13 different languages on the phone — nearly double the number on the TV version that's coming out.

Alongside Live Translate, Samsung also introduced another feature called Voice Removal with Audio Subtitles, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to support the visually impaired community.

According to Samsung, the feature will "analyze subtitles, isolate voices, and adjust reading speed for a smooth experience."

Both of these features will be integrated into Samsung's 2025 TV lineup. However, the company has not revealed whether they will be compatible with older TVs.

CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the world's leading consumer technology exhibition, held annually in Las Vegas. This is where leading technology companies and startups showcase the most innovative products, ideas and solutions in many fields, from consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, to smart home appliances.
