Samsung stops software updates for some devices

THU UYÊN |

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 will no longer receive security updates or major Android upgrades.

Samsung has improved its update policy over the years, with new devices getting around 7 years worth of updates.

However, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 were both released before this policy, so they only received about 4 years of updates.

Accordingly, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Tab A7 have been officially removed from the list of devices supported for updates.

This doesn't mean your Galaxy Z Fold 2 or Tab A7 won't work anymore. However, if it doesn't receive security updates, it could be at risk of being hacked or other threats.

Since we use our phones so much for online activities, it is important for Samsung to release regular security updates to protect users.

Also, if you're still using the Galaxy Z Fold 3, note that it will receive five years of security updates, meaning the device won't stop being supported until around 2026.
