In a recent interview with CNBC, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that Apple is making good progress in developing Siri integrated with artificial intelligence, with the goal of launching in March 2026.
This is considered an important milestone in Apple's AI strategy, paving the way for Apple Intelligence, a comprehensive AI platform for iPhone, iPad and Mac devices.
The new Siri is expected to take advantage of natural language capabilities and smart phone interaction, and can integrate chatbot from OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Google (Gemini).
Tim Cook also stressed that Apple is resolutely ready to make M&A deals if that helps accelerate the AI roadmap.
The Siri update is expected to appear in iOS 26.4, after many delays since its introduction at WWDC 2024.
Software engineer cra cra cra cra Federighi admitted that Siri's first-generation AI architecture did not meet Apple standards, forcing the company to restructure the entire platform to meet the requirements of personalization and higher accuracy.
Along with the AI plan, Apple is upgrading a series of key products such as MacBook Air, iPad Air and iPad mini, all of which are tested with OLED screens to bring high contrast and more vivid color ranges.
However, this journey is not only favorable. Apple said it will have to bear an additional $1.1 billion in tariffs in the third quarter, and the figure is expected to increase to $1.4 billion in the fourth quarter.
In addition, the delay of Siri AI has also caused Apple to face class actions from users expecting the product sooner.
However, technology experts believe that Siri AI 2026 will be a turning point to help Apple regain its position in the global artificial intelligence race.
