Intel is expected to start supplying some chips to Macs and iPads in the next few years, and the latest rumors suggest the partnership could even expand to the iPhone.
Analyst Jeff Pu recently said that he and his colleagues now expect Intel to reach an agreement with Apple to supply at least part of the standard iPhone series chip from 2028.
The report did not provide further details, but given the above timeline, Intel could start producing A22 chips for devices like the iPhone 20 and iPhone 20e in about 3 more years.
Notably, there is no sign that Intel will participate in designing chips for the iPhone. Intels role is said to be just processing; Apple still designs the chips itself, and Intel will take on a small part of the production side side of its main partner, TSMC.
Last month, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said he expected Intel to start transporting Apple's lowest-end M-series chip for some Mac and iPad models from mid-2027.
