Meta said Threads will launch some features that support podcaster. underads in the data source will be displayed with an outstanding interface, including color backgrounds and miniatures, easy to identify. At the same time, creators will have their own position on their personal profile to add links to their shows, helping to promote and increase the audience.
Meta's spokesperson told TechCrunch that next year, the platform will continue to add many other tools, to serve both podcast makers and listeners. The company emphasized that it is interested in this community because of its potential to turn Threads into a place where people exchange, discuss shows and interact directly with podcaster. Currently, these discussions are often circulating on Reddit, X, Facebook, Instagram, or streaming platforms such as YouTube and Spotify.
Threads currently has more than 400 million monthly active users and 150 million daily active users, while X reaches about 600 million monthly active users. Attracting the podcast community is expected to help Threads narrow the gap with competitors.
However, Meta insists that Threads is not intended to be a podcast distribution platform. Instead, the goal is to provide users with detailed information about the level of fan interaction, while developing features to help listeners explore new podcasts and connect directly with podcaster.
This is not the first time Threads has targeted content creators to make a difference compared to X, Bluesky and other social networks. Previously, in May, the platform allowed creators to add up to 5 links to their personal profile, promoting a wide web presence, including social media, video platforms, blossoms, and portfolios. Recently, Threads has also supported creators to share longer thoughts and views through text appendices.
Meta said that in the coming months, users can expect more new features focusing on podcast discussions, to enhance the experience for both creators and listeners.
