Google Meet - Google's online meeting platform is about to launch a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool called "Take Notes for Me", which helps summarize key points during video calls.
Instead of transcribing every word, the feature uses Gemini AI to capture key points into a Google Doc, which is saved to the meeting organizer's Google Drive.
Documents can be automatically sent to participants or added to a calendar event after the call. If relevant features are enabled, the document will also include a link to the recording and transcript of the meeting.
Google Workspace customers with plans and add-ons will be the first to get access to the notes feature. Currently, the feature is only available in English and only works on desktop or laptop.
Google announced plans to bring AI to more of its services last year. The company has been aggressively integrating AI features into its hardware and software.
Their Gemini AI assistant is being integrated into Android and Workspace apps. However, the effectiveness of these features will depend on the AI's performance and accuracy.
