Mr. Lam Dinh Thang emphasized that digital transformation is very important for the development of Ho Chi Minh City's digital economy. Currently, the proportion of digital economy accounts for 21.5% of Ho Chi Minh City's GRDP (total product in the area). "According to the orientation, digital economy will be the driving force for Ho Chi Minh City's economy in the next 5 years and Ho Chi Minh City is looking for every solution to promote the development of digital economy", Mr. Thang emphasized.

Mr. Lam Dinh Thang further analyzed that in the digital economy, there are two main areas: core digital economy and pervasive digital economy. Regarding the core digital economy, Ho Chi Minh City will issue policies to attract investors in information technology; build data centers; build new centralized technology centers; and invest in the high-tech sector.

With the spread of the digital economy, Ho Chi Minh City pays great attention to digital transformation for businesses. “Ho Chi Minh City has more than 300,000 businesses, of which 95% are small and medium-sized enterprises. The growth of Ho Chi Minh City’s digital economy will have a very important role for this group of businesses,” Mr. Thang emphasized.

With the role and importance of enterprises in the development of Ho Chi Minh City's digital economy, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang highly appreciated the program to support digital transformation for enterprises, with Viettel's digital office solution - CODX. He hopes that with the ability to digitize business operations, optimize operating costs, and manage functions seamlessly, the solutions provided will help businesses transform successfully.

According to him, this support program is part of the Action Month in response to the National Digital Transformation Day 2024. In the coming time, HCA, partners and the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City will have many programs, with many practical and useful activities for businesses.
