Talking to Lao Dong, the VinFuture Prize Council said that the VinFuture Prize Ceremony 2025 will be held in Hanoi on the evening of December 5, 2025. The ceremony is expected to have the presence of Vietnamese state leaders and leading scientists in the world, who are the owners of prestigious scientific awards such as: Nobel, Millennium, Technology, Turing...
The awards will include: 1 Main Award worth more than 78 billion VND (equivalent to 3 million USD). This is one of the most valuable global science and technology awards to date. The main award will be awarded to the authors of groundbreaking research and technology inventions that have been proven to be able to make human life better and improve the sustainable living environment for future generations.
3 Special prizes, each worth more than 13 billion VND (equivalent to 500,000 USD). These awards are for scientists from developing countries; for Female Scientists; for Scientists researching new fields.
Speaking to the press, Professor Dang Van Chi - member of the VinFuture Prize Council - said that Vietnam needs more time to achieve top scientific achievements. However, from now on, Vietnamese scientists can still expect some special prizes from the VinFuture Prize.

According to Professor Chi, after 5 years, major universities around the world have known about VinFuture and submitted nominations for the award. At least 4 or even 5 scientists after being awarded the VinFuture Prize have won the Nobel Prize, showing that the jury has chosen the right people and the right project worthy of honor.
Regarding the project's ability to win this year's award, he emphasized VinFuture's spirit of science and technology to serve humanity. Therefore, the awarded works must have a positive impact on millions, billions of people. Looking back at the previous 4 seasons, each project honored is a major discovery, from medicine, energy to areas that directly serve life.
Professor Chi said that it cannot be specifically revealed, but it must be research that creates a wide impact, can solve the problem of increasing food for the world, or improving the quality of the ocean and the air. Any research that has the potential to improve human life has the opportunity to be named at VinFuture, if not this year, it could be the future.
Professor Dang Van Chi shared that Vietnam has gone through many difficulties and is on a clear development trajectory, in which investment in science and technology is an important strategy. However, investment takes time to create top-notch achievements. In recent years, the Council has received a number of nominations from Vietnam and he expects this number to increase. VinFuture, he said, is an important driving force for young scientists to strive.
He also emphasized that Vietnamese scientists need to link research with areas that VinFuture promotes such as the living environment or core technology. One category that he believes young scientists can be interested in is the Special Prize for Female Scientists, as the trend of "younging" award winners has appeared in recent years. That shows that it is not necessary for veteran scientists to have high expectations for VinFuture.
According to information from the Organizing Committee, to date, the late Professor Vo Tong Xuan is the first Vietnamese scientist to be honored at VinFuture, with a Special Prize for scientists from developing countries in 2023.
