According to 9to5 Google, Youtube has quietly launched the podcast Development page. The company also limits some newcomers to access podcasts on December 10 or mobile devices.
No one knows in advance the criteria for choosing to display to Youtube users, even those who subscribe to Youtube Premium can only see standard videos and play them again.
As for Youtube, the tech giant has not had any comments on this issue. The Podcast Development page seems to have been active since the end of July this year, but it has only become more popular with many users now.
Currently, Youtube has not yet released a long-term plan for the new field that the company is investing in. However, 9to5 Google believes that Google is positioning itself as another option for people who listen to podcasts, instead of using Apple Podcast or Spotify.
If this becomes a reality, Youtube can attract more audiences, because this platform currently stores quite a lot of podsets, especially video pods. From there, Youtube will also be chosen by many Youtubers to publish their works on the platform.
