Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Plan to receive and distribute rice to ethnic minority students and trainees for the first period of the 2025-2026 school year in the area.
Accordingly, 4,487 ethnic minority students and trainees studying at the Southern Pali Intermediate Cultural Supplementary School and students of ethnic minority boarding schools in the area will receive rice support with a quota of 15 kg/month for 5 months of semester I. The total rice allocated in this period is 336,525 kg.
Some schools with a large number of students and trainees receiving large supports include: Huynh Cuong Ethnic Boarding High School (46,500 kg), Can Tho City Ethnic Boarding School (39,525 kg), Vinh Chau Ethnic Boarding School (36,000 kg) and Thanh Phu Ethnic Boarding School (35,250 kg).
Can Tho City People's Committee requires rice distribution to the right subjects, publicly, transparently and promptly, ensuring the rights of ethnic minority boarding students and trainees. The rice receipt and distribution is expected to take place in November 2025, organized and implemented by the Department of Education and Training in coordination with the State Reserve Department of Region XV.
According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the plan is being implemented to implement Decree No. 66/2025/ND-CP of the Government on policies to support children and students in ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, coastal areas, islands and Decision No. 3211/QD-BTC of the Ministry of Finance on exporting national reserve rice to support students and trainees in the new school year.
