According to the organizers, the 1st Kun Khmer Asian Championship in 2026 is held in Can Tho City (Vietnam) to create conditions for athletes from Asian countries to compete, exchange, and improve their skills.

In addition, strengthen international sports cooperation; contribute to developing the Kun Khmer movement in the region and promoting the image, country, and people of Vietnam in general and Can Tho City in particular to international friends.
The 1st Kun Khmer Asian Championship in 2026 has 11 participating countries, including: Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea and Vietnam. And will compete in 70 sets of medals.




Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Bay - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City - Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized that the 1st Asian Kun Khmer Championship 2026 this time marks an important milestone in the development process of Kun Khmer in Asia.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, this is not only a top-notch sports playground gathering outstanding athletes but also a symbol of solidarity and cultural cohesion between countries.

The tournament aims to promote exchange and cooperation in developing martial arts between countries in the region; at the same time, through this sports activity, it is an opportunity to introduce and promote to domestic and international friends and tourists about the land and people of Vietnam in general and Can Tho City in particular, rich in potential, friendly and hospitable," said the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City.



The 1st Kun Khmer Asian Championship in 2026 will take place from September 1 to September 8, 2026, at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Training and Sports Competition Center of Can Tho City.
