300 poor households in border areas in Dien Bien province have new houses

Dien Bien - 300 poor households in 4 border districts have new houses after more than 5 months of implementation, with a total completed cost of over 30 billion VND.

On April 8, in Nam Po border district, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Dien Bien province held a conference to summarize the implementation of support to build Great Unity houses for poor households in border villages in 4 districts: Dien Bien, Muong Cha, Muong Nhe, Nam Po.

According to the report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, after more than 5 months of implementation (from October 2024), the program to build houses for poor households in border villages has been completed with a total of 300 houses renovated and put into use.

Of which, there are 122 traditional wooden houses; 118 iron frame houses; 60 built houses. The area of each house is from 36-102m2.

The total cost of completing the houses is 30.723 billion VND. Of which, the provincial "For the Poor" Fund allocated 15 billion VND; the additional budget for families to contribute and mobilize is 13.663 billion VND.

In addition, the implementation of housing construction has received active support from organizations, armed forces units and people in the area with over 4,473 working days and support in money and materials for housing worth over VND2.06 billion.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the Party Committee, the government of 4 border districts and the people and soldiers of the armed forces, the sense of responsibility of commune and village officials focused on supporting the implementation of houses for poor border households to ensure the right, public, democratic and transparent.

In particular, in accordance with the wishes, economic conditions and customs of poor households in the locality.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province presented Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the implementation of the program to build Great Unity houses for the poor in border villages.
