An Giang is a province bordering Cambodia, stretching across many localities. The terrain of the border area is complex, with a system of rivers and canals, many trails and open paths. This is not only an important trade gateway but also a condition for smugglers to take advantage of transporting firecrackers, especially at night or early morning.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa - Political Commissar of Long Binh Border Guard Station (An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command) said that the period before, during and after Tet is always the peak of activities of smuggling crimes, especially firecrackers. In addition to patrols and ambushes, the unit also promotes grasping the situation, reviewing subjects with suspicious signs to promptly deter and educate, not allowing the formation of complex lines and groups.
We determine that we must do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of the masses to create a solid'shield' at the border. When people raise their awareness and do not assist smuggling, the fight will be much more effective," Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa emphasized.
The Political Commissar of Long Binh Border Guard Station also said that the unit maintains a regular coordination mechanism with the commune police, the commune military command and related forces. When suspicious signs are detected, information is exchanged promptly to organize checkpoints and arrests. Thanks to that, many cases of illegal firecracker transportation have been detected, exhibits seized, and strictly handled according to legal regulations.
We are determined not to let a'hot spot' for firecracker smuggling form in the managed area. Each officer and soldier must uphold the spirit of responsibility, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, stick to the post throughout Tet, and maintain peace for the people to enjoy a safe spring," Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa affirmed.

Not only Long Binh Border Gate Border Guard Station, Phu Huu Border Guard Station forces also simultaneously deployed a peak period of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and prohibited goods before the Binh Ngo Tet 2026. Working groups and teams were strengthened to the grassroots level, firmly grasping the situation of each key area, especially border areas, trails, and open paths across borders.
Lieutenant Colonel Ha Thai Ngoc Chau - Political Commissar of Phu Huu Border Guard Station (Command of An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command) said that currently, Phu Huu Border Guard Station forces have arranged ambushes in key areas, combined with mobile patrols and strict control of people and vehicles passing through the border area. In parallel with the struggle, the force also coordinates with local authorities to organize widespread propaganda to each household living in the border area. The content focuses on disseminating legal regulations on the management and use of firecrackers; warning about the consequences and risks of unsafety when storing, transporting, and trading illegal firecrackers.
Tightening management of the border line during Tet not only aims to prevent illegal firecrackers but also contributes to maintaining security and order, ensuring a peaceful environment for people to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet safely and healthily. Combat readiness duty is maintained seriously 24/24 hours; officers and soldiers are on duty at units, ready to handle any arising situations.
With high determination and the synchronous involvement of officers and soldiers, Phu Huu Border Guard Station is making efforts to strictly control the border line, not allowing smuggled firecrackers to creep into the inland," Lieutenant Colonel Ha Thai Ngoc Chau emphasized.
